Basil is a genuine Son of … the South. Born and what raising he’s had has been in Georgia. Most people, when they first hear him talk, deduct about 60 IQ points. After a while, they give 40-50 of them back. Those last 10-20 take a while.

His name is Basil. It’s on his birth certificate. And on his driver’s license. And probably on a subpoena or two. He’s not a Republican. He’s not a member of any political party. But he is a conservative. And a he’s a Christian.

He likes baseball. And college football. And candlelit dinners and long walks on the beach.

And he’s a little bit of a computer geek. Just enough to be dangerous.

He’s married. He’s done that twice, in fact. One took. Oh, and has children. And grandchildren.

He’s a former radio newsman and wants to be an astronaut when he grows up.
