It seems that I’m getting a lot of hits today from Fatso Eddie’s website. Looks like he wants to bring it to people’s attention that I’ve posted that Wide Awakes Radio is looking for sponsors. Well, duh. We’re capitalists you effin moron. We aren’t in this for the fun of it.

He has sent literally hundreds of visitors to me in the past few days but none of them seem to want to comply with my commenting policy. None of them have tried to leave a comment. COWARDS!

Lefties have NO BALLS. Kender proved that at the love feast in Vegas held by Daily POS. He attempted to engage those mental midgets in conversation to defend their positions and they simply walked away. Oh yeah, that takes courage alright.

Then there are some friends of Fatso Eddie who decided to call me a liar. I invited them to a face to face so that they could have the opportunity to call me a liar, BUT NO ONE SHOWED. Imagine that. Apparently they took it to heart the fact that I’ve publicly said that anyone who calls me a liar will be eating through a straw for a while.

They like to call me a liar and misrepresent the truth, but heaven forbid you ask them their opinion because they seem to be lacking any.

Fatso Eddie and others like him like to troll Conservative blogs so that they can crap all over what others have to say. Why? Because they are incapable of forming a coherent thought of their own.

Mental Midget Update:

To accompany last-night’s rant on Senate Bill 1, Congress’ ineffective proposal to deal with lobbying reform, we cannot let slip the fact that Congress addressing this subject is like putting Bill Clinton in charge of security for a harem.

The latest in this convoluted notion of ethics reform is Harry Reid putting the breaks on the situation and publicly stating that hearings are needed. That’s right, hearings. Let’s spend millions of taxpayer dollars in order to stall the process and at the same time push through S.1 so those pesky bloggers and internet radio guys can’t encourage members of the general public to contact them.

Added to this was Reid’s opposition to an amendment to a bill (inspired by him) to curtail earmarks. The amendment replaced language in the House version that would essentially make it impossible for a Senator to introduce amendments including earmarks from which the Senator or his family may profit. Reid attempted to table the amendment and lost support within his own Party as 9 Dems jumped ship to vote to kill the motion to table.

Immediately after the tabling vote, Senator Reid took the floor to stall a voice vote indefinitely saying “the Senate acted in haste.” So what, now that he’s the majority leader if he doesn’t like the way the vote went he will stall the process in order to not be embarrassed? This of course allows the new Majority Leader to continue to introduce earmarks where his family will benefit financially until the matter is taken up by the Senate.

Remember the “Culture of Corruption” platform from the election? Well America, you voted to put the Culture of Corruption into power.

Harry the Human sleeping pill, in his shady land deals in Las Vegas, connections to Jack Abramoff, and accepting of boxing tickets, is now in charge of the Senate. Of all the people to be in charge of ethics reform is not laughable, but tragic.

America wanted this, now we all must suffer for it. Again, I’ll remind you that it is going to take us 10 years to reverse the damage caused by this Congress.

During the elections we were all bombarded by the lefties in their promises for change, but no details. Shortly after the elections the first “detail” that we heard was that Congress would be returned to a 5 day work week. Oh yeah? When?

Tomorrow/Today depending on which coast you are on is Dr. Martin Luther King Jr day. Congress is not working today/tomorrow. Last week, they took Monday off for the National Championship game and didn’t report for work until 6:00 pm on Tuesday. In the next two weeks, both Parties have events scheduled interrupting the legislative process.

So when are we going to get the one change that the new Democratic controlled Congress has promised? I’m not going to hold my breath.

Other than the 5 day work week promise, we’ve not heard any public statements as to the “changes” that the Dems want to make. We’ve gotten word of some of the legislation being proposed and to be honest, I’m more scared than relieved by it.

For instance Senate Bill 1…

S. 1 would strip the ability for grassroots organizations to encourage their members, or members of the general public, to contact their elected officials. BUT, there are exemptions for using professional lobbyists and for large corporations and unions.

So who is it targeting? Bloggers and Talk Radio. Two segments of political life that the libs don’t control.

The real evil in politics are those professional lobbyists, big corporations, and unions buying political influence, NOT grassroots organizations reminding their members and members of the general public to do their civic responsibility to be engaged in the political process.

Under S. 1 Wide Awakes Radio as-well-as every single political blogger regardless of party affiliation would be required to submit to quarterly reporting on finances and other invasive questioning if we were to encourage our audience and/or readers to contact their elected officials about pending legislation. This is anti-democratic in nature. This would remove the people from the decision making process and leave those decisions to the political elite.

Our CEO Kender MacGowan has gone on record to say that we here at Wide Awakes Radio would not comply with any law passed by this Congress to curtail our 1st Amendment rights of free speech. We have been instructed to continue to encourage our listeners to be engaged in the political process and contact their elected officials. It is not only a right people. It is a responsibility of the “advanced citizenship” called being an American.

As Michael Douglas said in the movie An American President, “America is Advanced Citizenship, you have to want it.” This is the truth. America is “Advanced Citizenship”. And as citizens, we have the responsibility to be engaged in the political process.

The reason why politicians get away with all that they do is because Americans have dropped the ball. We as a society have become complacent and politically apathetic. It is this political apathy that leads to the election of individuals based on a notion of “change” without giving details as to what they want to change and how.

Oh and let’s not lose sight of the fact that the freshmen in Congress who got elected on the mantra of “change” have zero political power. They have the ability to change nothing in Congress. Not even their own minds. They are now owned by the Party Leadership in the house that they were elected to. They will kowtow or they will NEVER have any political influence.

So the bottom line is America, the change that you voted for will not be the change that you will be getting. So don’t be surprised when the left coast politics that I warned you of right here on this program before the elections comes about. Remember, it will take us 10 years to reverse the damage that the 110th Congress creates.

After consulting with Kender and coming up with a mutual agreement, Gribbit Live is moving again. Once we move to the Gen II software I want Gribbit Live in a stable time slot accessible by the widest audience possible.

What we’ve come up with is that Gribbit Live will be moving to 12:00 midnight with a rebroadcast in the early am. The rebroadcast feature will not be available until after Gen II officially launches.

If you tuned in this morning attempting to listen to my rantings and didn’t hear my show, it is because we are implementing the move to the latenight hours as of tonight.

The schedule is still under development at this time as far as the rest of WAR is concerned. But the plan is starting with the beginning with Gen II, Gribbit Live will be “live” at 12 midnight Eastern Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday and at 1:00am Eastern on Thursdays. The Thursday show will be following 1 hour of Imperial Cluebat. The rebroadcast on Friday morning will be Misha for the first hour and me during the second. At least that is the plan.

This will free up Kender to get a couple more hours of sleep during the early am hours as my current time slot is 5 am - 7 am Pacific time. This decision is beneficial to both Kender and myself in the fact that he gets more rest and less stress in his life; and I get to follow up the days’ events being the night cap show for the station.

Gen II is being held up by external obligations on the part of our IT guru Matt who is being forced by his “day job” employer to pull down mandatory OT which is the real delay in our start up. Once he does what he has to do to get everything turned on, we’ll be on Gen II.

Gen III is in the planning stages and will be a literal upgrade to the Gen II package. The upgrade from our current software to Gen II is a complete change in the software. Gen III will be a feature upgrade (like a patch) to offer additional features such as hosts answering their own calls and offering video. But that is in the future.

Right here and right now, we are in the midst of cutting some dead weight and some of the hosts that are either impatient or seeing WAR as a hobby are starting to abandon the project. They have their reasons and we understand. But contrary to the belief being put forward by at least one former host, WAR is not dead. We are hitting snags in development this is true, but it isn’t an Error Amerika style killer.

Remember folks, we never have claimed to be professionals coming into this. We started this with the understanding that we are developing new technologies and that we would have growing pains in the development and implementation of these new technologies. That is where we are.

I have been assured that we will be up and running full scale in the next week or two. I know that we’ve heard that before and ran into snags. I’ve been told that all the files have been uploaded onto the server to make Gen II work, it is now a matter of Matt the IT Guru getting the available time to turn on the switch as it were.

Complicating our launch has been some health issues on the part of a couple of our executives and/or their family members. It is unfortunate that these health issues have presented themselves during a critical time for Wide Awakes Radio. But the fact of the matter is that they have presented themselves when they have and need to be addressed. We all wish a rapid recovery for those who have become ill and send our best wishes to those who have family who have been ill. You are all always in our prayers and we do understand the priorities.

This project is my personal key to improving my lot in life. I’ve made no secret of this fact. If I can have the patience to allow this to develop, I would assume that others could do the same. Gen II will be a quantum leap in broadcast quality for Wide Awakes Radio. I believe that it is important to get this right.

My friends tomorrow is Thanksgiving. A holiday that we celebrate as a means to express our thankfulness. Originally, in our nation it was to express thanks to GOD for providing a bountiful growing season. But today, many of us have different reasons to thank our Creator for the gifts that he bestows.

I’ve not made it a secret that I have within the past year found a need to connect with GOD and establish a place in his kingdom for me. I’m in the process now of joining the Catholic Church and am thrilled and feel priviledged to be accepted into a community that is so loving and caring as the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish in Ashtabula Ohio is.

In this week’s RCIA class, we ended with what can be viewed as a prayer that goes with this season very well. So I thought I’d share it with you. Feel free to print and use this at your Thanksgiving celebration.

Thanksgiving Day or Any Time of Thanksgiving
“Dedicate yourselves to thankfulness” (Col 3:15)

Are You Thankful? Tell GOD.

That’s right, Mr. Our Troops are stupid plans on running for President in 2008. What a complete and utter moron.

It isn’t bad enough that he shot himself in the foot with his statement…

“You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”

So where is the joke that he was supposedly speaking of? I don’t see it. Even with the correction there is no joke. I mean is he just so inept to choose to tell a joke that no matter the timing it is not funny and resembles a joke as much as a cat resembles a dog? I don’t think so. I just think that he is brain dead.

That aside, wouldn’t a rational person consider that whole debacle so inflammatory as to remove ANY chance of holding public office in the future? You and I may think so but Kerry doesn’t see it that way.

Wide Awakes Radio went off-line with live programming on November 10 with the close of the broadcast day with the intention to going back to live feeds with “Gribbit Live” on November 20th at 8:00 am Eastern. Those seem to have been high hopes as the time needed to install our new software and work out the tweaks needed to make the quality what we wish is taking longer than we had hoped.

W.A.R. personalities are currently testing feed quality with our California office and we will be up and running on November 27th for sure. We could actually pull off the original November 20th goal if we sacrifice quality. But with the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday, it has been decided to take the extra week to “get it right” so that we don’t have ANY quality issues when we come back live.

Don’t believe any rhetoric from the lefties that since the election was “lost” by the Republicans that we are done. This announcement of our demise is not only premature, but down right erroneous. We aren’t going anywhere. And despite the ill wishers on the left who want us to go the way of “Error Amerika“, we actually are going to benefit from being in the minority and are looking forward to pointing out the continuing errors of the leftists who will be taking power in January. It WILL be fun to point out.

So Wide Awakes Radio is reinventing ourselves and will be back, better, stronger, faster on the 27th of November at 8:00 am Eastern time with my show, “Gribbit Live“.

The House Democratic Caucus has selected Steny Hoyer to become the House Majority Leader Designee. In a bitter internal battle the House Democratic Caucus by secret ballot elected Hoyer by a vote of 149 - 86.

Hoyer you may remember was locked in a bitter battle against Nancy Pelosi for House Minority Leader a few years ago. Earlier in the day, the Caucus unanimously elected Pelosi Speaker Designee after which she nominated and put her full support behind Jack Murtha for Majority Leader.

Only time will tell now if there will be internal strife within the House Democratic Caucus in the next 2 years.

Developing….

Here in Ohio, we switched over to an all automated system as mandated by federal law in May of this year. In my county, we use the “fill the bubble” type ballots that you insert into the machine to be counted.

That being said, when I voted today in Ashtabula City, the first of all moved all of our precincts from a former middle school building to a retirement center that is located on a street with no sidewalks. Second of all, all 4 precincts, 2-a, 2-b, 2-c, and 2-d were all in one room with only one machine to accept all the ballots from all 4 precincts.

When I was preparing to submit my ballot, standing in line waiting my turn, the machine began a high pitched beeping. As it turns out, the ballot that was inserted into the machine jammed. Well not one of the poll workers knew how to fix the problem.

Now, there were about 80 of us in this room. And the poll worker’s collected our ballots saying that they would process them later. I didn’t think anything of it at the time, but I wonder… How do I know my ballot actually got processed? Answer… I don’t.

I attempted to call the Ohio Republican Party to inform them of my election day problems. But no one answered as their offices were closed. I went to the GOP website looking for a reporting number… nothing. I even went to the Ohio Secretary of State’s website and still no number to call.

I did go onto W.A.R. and told Matt Hurley from the SOBalliance and he told me that the number was sent to us in an email but I couldn’t find it. So am I to stand by and say to hell with it? I mean how do you report this type of error?

Apparently, my polling station didn’t have one of these election observers.

Nancy Pelosi wants to be Speaker of the House, that is 2nd in line to ascend to the Presidency should anything happen to the top dogs. But what of her record. Well let’s take a look…

Crime…

* Voted YES on funding for alternative sentencing instead of more prisons. (Jun 2000)

* Voted YES on maintaining right of habeus corpus in Death Penalty Appeals. (Mar 1996)

Oh yeah Nancy, let’s not punish the guilty. Why do that? Why should we wish to dissuade others from following in the criminal footsteps of current convicted criminals. The answer isn’t alternative sentencing, it is in stronger penalties with less ability to allow the personal political leanings on the part of judges to worm their way into the judicial mainstream.

And for heaven’s sake, let’s not execute criminals who murder people knowing that the penalty for murder is death. That wouldn’t make any sense would it.

Without a strong deterrent murder would skyrocket in this country. The problem with the death penalty is that it isn’t utilized enough. It needs to be expanded to cover other crimes such as sex crimes against children.

What about making the punishment for raping a child under the age of 13 DEATH. What about making the punishment for selling drugs to children DEATH. And eliminating the time required to go through the appeal process. We need a fast tracked appellate process from capital crimes. And followed through with.

She claims to be Catholic, but her voting record shows a willingness to sacrifice innocent human life for the sake of a lie called a woman’s right to choose.

Who granted that right? The United States Supreme Court did in 1973 in violation of Articles I & III and Amendment X of the United States Constitution. And because we have allowed them to get away with this intrusive expansion of their powers, in excess of 40 million American citizens were never born.

Abortion has become a form of birth control. Abortion is the hot-bed topic issue of every election now. Because those of us who believe it is an atrocity against the human race and a sin against GOD’s law yes, but more importantly that it is an issue that should be addressed at the state level.

There is no presumption of infallibility for the Supremes. A mistake has been made which has cost the lives of 40,000,000 + human beings who have never taken a breath of fresh air, been named, cried, laughed, or even had a chance to sin against the laws of GOD and man.

If those who hail this mistake as a landmark in the advancement of man are left to be in control of other issues, how long will it take us to reverse their mistakes? That is THE campaign question….
